Description : What does this product represent?

The Valknut, or "knot of dead warriors," was one of the most significant symbols among Viking warriors. It represented Valhalla, the hall of Odin where brave warriors who died in battle were taken to live in the afterlife.

In Valhalla, warriors feast and fight until they are called upon to join the gods in the final battle of Ragnarok. The Valknut was often placed on grave goods of both men and women, signifying their worthiness to dwell in Valhalla or calling on Odin and his Valkyries to take the fallen soul there.

Warriors not slain in battle were often buried with a sword in hand to trick Odin and the Valkyries into thinking they died fighting. Thus, the Valknut symbolizes the bravery of the Viking warrior and respect for those who have passed. It also suggests that the veil between worlds is thin and that Valhalla is closer than we imagine.
